Since 2008, Triangle Empowerment Center (TEC) has stood as a beacon of hope, health, and inclusion across Durham, Raleigh, and Chapel Hill. We started with a simple but profound belief: every single person deserves access to vital health services, education, and community—regardless of who they are, where they come from, or what crisis they are facing. For over 18 years, we have met people exactly where they are. From providing free HIV/STI testing and PrEP education to offering critical substance abuse assistance, job readiness training, and emergency housing referrals, TEC has been a lifeline for minority populations, the LGBTQ+ community, and neighbors experiencing homelessness. We operate on a strict philosophy of zero exclusion: we have no membership fees, no minimum requirements, and no barriers to entry. As the need for our crisis care and rural minority health initiatives grows, so does our need for community backing.
