Friends, if you landed here, most likely you already know our family's story. If not, here goes the quick version:
Our (Ben's and Karen's) brother-in-law, Bill, was diagnosed with esophageal cancer right around Thanksgiving time in 2018. He began a treatment plan aimed at shrinking the mass in order to remove it. He did a lot of the the treatment in Seymour, but had to travel some to Indy to check in with docs and such. It was somewhat successful as he was finally able to begin eating somewhat normally again.
After the initial treatment of chemo and radiation, he had to go back to have another scan done before the surgery. Unfortunately, this scan gave us news we never wanted to hear! The cancer had moved to his bones.
Here is a post from our sister, Dana, on Day 1 of the new aggressive chemo treatment: "Well its Wednesday and here we go again. Bills hip biopsy came back cancer. So we are going to do some more chemotherapy. There are some things that no one wants to hear or say out loud. No cure are 2 words that cut deep...so after 5 days of praying, reading, spending time with the girls and praying some more we are going to live life and play the cards that we are dealt. One day at a time. I ask for prayers for Bill and our family. We are going to ride this where it goes. We are Team Nowland!"
"No cure" that's what they said. We believe in miracles! We are doing a lot of praying.
What Ben and I, along with the rest of the Spencer-Nowland clans, want you to realize is how expensive this fight is. Dana has excellent insurance! BUT already, the bills are adding up. We would like to ask you to give to help take some of the pressure off of our sister. We are in this for the long haul and our family is stepping up to help in all kinds of ways! Can you help?
You money will go to help pay for medical bills and necessities of the battle. No one fights alone!
Our 3 beautiful nieces are going to need lots of care and support as well as our sister. Please continue to pray for our family! We believe that prayer changes EVERYTHING!
