Hi, we are David, Lance, Mateo, and Daniel, and we’re excited to share that we have been selected to represent Team USA in two prestigious karate competitions: the Junior Pan American Karate Championships in São Paolo, Brazil (August 2024) and the Junior World Karate Championships in Venice, Italy (October 2024)!
Our Journey
Karate has been our passion since we were 3 years old, and we have competed nationally and internationally for many years. Since 2021, we have worked tirelessly as a team in order to compete in the 14-17 Team Kata event. We’ve had the honor of representing the US as part of Team USA Karate in Team Kata for the last three years.

Because we don’t all live in the same state, we regularly travel across the country to train together in person and train online throughout the year. We have built a great friendship and a strong team which has proudly brought home back-to-back Gold medals Team Kata from the Junior Pan American Karate Championship in 2022 and 2023. This year, we’ve continued to build our team and we are determined to defend our title and showcase our skills on the global stage once again.
Our Goal
Each of us faces a travel cost of approximately $5,500 for these upcoming events. This includes flights, accommodations, training expenses, and other necessities to ensure we are fully prepared and can focus on representing our country with excellence.
Why we are asking for support
The financial burden of travel and preparation for these high-level competitions is significant. While our families are bearing the majority of the expenses for us to compete, your support will help us cover costs for these two major events and allow us to give our best performance for Team USA.
All funds collected will be used for:
- Travel Costs: Flights, transportation, and accommodations for the championships in Brazil and Italy.
- Training and Preparation: Ensuring we have the best possible training and support leading up to the events (travel for training trips, training space rental, private session fees, etc.).
Karate has been more than just a sport for us; it’s a passion and a commitment to personal growth and excellence. By supporting us, you’re not just helping us travel—you’re investing in our dream of bringing home medals for Team USA and representing our country on a world stage.
