TEAM Theatre is opening a studio space!
We would like to be one of the only training grounds for youth and teens in the Tri-Valley with professional training in all aspects of theatre (Acting, Dance, Voice, Storytelling).
We feel confident that with strong financial backing, we can keep our classes full by offering quality classes by experts in the field.

MISSION STATEMENT
To educate the next generation of collaborative storytellers.
Who is TEAM Theatre?
YOU are T.E.A.M. Theatre! TEAM Theatre is anyone with a passion for exploration, creativity, storytelling, and collaboration. TEAM Theatre is a company of emerging artists from ages 3 & up, who are interested in learning all aspects of what it takes to bring a story from the page to the stage.
TEAM Theatre was founded in 2015 by Rachel Robinson (emeritus) and Salim Razawi, out of a shared desire to foster a community of well-rounded, young theatre artists.
What is TEAM Theatre?
TEAM Theatre is a movement to create the future generation of smart and skillful storytellers. The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines the word TEAM simply as “a group of people who work together.” That is at the core of TEAM Theatre. At TEAM Theatre, we approach the performing arts as a team sport. Every player is essential to the success of the production: from actors and stage managers to costume designers and spotlight operators. We believe it is vital that aspiring artists be educated in all elements that bring a show to life. TEAM Theatre is the East Bay’s premier training ground for the theatre arts, where students receive training in voice, acting, dance, stage management, design, and more. Whether you are just beginning to explore the world of theatre, or if you have already performed in dozens of shows, TEAM Theatre is the community for you.
Why TEAM Theatre?
In a world of increasing technological advancement, it is more important than ever to create a space for art makers and appreciators. TEAM Theatre provides one of the few remaining platforms for children to develop collaborative and interpersonal skills. According to a Washington Post article by arts and leadership educator, Lisa Phillips, the top 10 skills children learn from the arts are:
Creativity
Confidence
Problem Solving
Perseverance
Focus
Non-verbal Communication
Receiving Constructive Feedback
Collaboration
Dedication
Accountability
Now is the time for TEAM Theatre. We know that you have options when it comes to your child’s arts education. TEAM Theatre is unique in its commitment to training and teamwork. We are not a musical theatre factory where your tuition dollars go toward putting your child into a stock costume and churning out a new production every 10 weeks. Our students gain practical knowledge of the skills it takes to make a theatre as part of a team. They will have a cohesive training opportunity, providing them with a sense of ownership of their work, a supportive community, and a practical professional toolbox.
The Impact
Starting this company will allow for more opportunities for families in the Greater Tri-Valley Area.
With TEAM Theatre, participants will get a well-rounded and professional experience. They will not only become well-trained, versatile performers, but will also get training in all aspects of the industry.
What We Need & What You Get
The money we earn will help us get going on our newly remodeled studio. We are looking for support with contracting fees, sound equipment, flooring for dance, and eventually we would like to consider theater bookings, show licenses, sets, costumes, microphones, props, production staff, and so much more.
Once we get established, we would love to offer classes in areas like: Acting, Musical Theatre, Improv, Dance, Technical Theatre, and Costuming.
We have a very professional staff, folks who are actively working in the industry, supporting us and sharing a love and passion for youth in the arts.
Other Ways You Can Help
Register your child or teen for a class or two, attend an event at TEAM, and get the word out.
Use the share button to tell your friends, family, and co-workers about us through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and any other social media we are unaware of!
Risks and Challenges
Two of the major risks and challenges of opening a performing arts studio are starting from nothing and keeping our production enrollment full.
We all know that with budget cuts, theatre and arts programs are the first to go.
There is an obvious need for the arts in our community and a strong desire for quality arts programs in the Tri-Valley for youth and teens.
Thank you!
Warmly,
Salim Razawi
