Keep Going.
That’s all you have to do, ever.
You really don’t have to be amazing,
Or fierce or beautiful
Or successful or good.
Just keep going, please.
Slowly is fine.
Crawling is fine.
No feeling is final.
Except hope.

Calling All Love Warriors:
Susan Klein, and all of TeamSuper (Susan, Cobey, Sydney, and Denver) need us!
They need us to demand a safe home for them. They need us to rally behind them, show up in our own Superpowers, and rise as a community of support. They need us to give them the hope that they, too, can one day be safe to dream and do and thrive.
Pledge with me today, that you are a part of this community that gives hope.
Hope that TeamSuper will not have to endure this painful, violence any longer. Hope that TeamSuper can, indeed, fight power with power. That TeamSuper will one day be able to rest - to put down the fight and be at peace. None of us could ever possibly be at peace when we know children are suffering.
No child should have to be afraid to be alive. One thing you should know about TeamSuper is that they are relentless. We, this community, will not stop until Cobey, Sydney, and Susan are safe from their abuser.
Cobey is 11 and Sydney is 8. They have witnessed and been victims of Physical, Emotional, and Financial Abuse at the hands of their father consistently for as long as they have been alive. It is not bad parenting. It is not anger management issues. It is the desire to have power and control over human beings. It is Child Abuse, Domestic Violence, and Financial Abuse - These are crimes in Colorado Law.

Team Super has been fighting this entire time for their rights. Their right to live in an environment that is loving and kind. Their right to make simple mistakes without the fear of violence. Their right to just simply exist. Susan has worked tirelessly with Child Protective Services, the Parker Police, and the Arapahoe County Courts to provide them the relief they so desperately need. The only place they have ever seen movement is in the Arapahoe County Courts - and that was expensive movement.
Two years ago, Arapahoe County Court granted Cobey and Sydney temporary relief. They lived in a safe home, with Susan, full time. For two years we all saw my niece and nephew blossom. Free from survival mode, they excelled in school, made new friends, became student council leaders, artists, and dancers. They laughed and played. For two years, Cobey and Sydney rested.
This temporary reprieve literally bankrupt them.
TeamSuper, and our closest community/family members, spent $40,000 fighting for Cobey and Sydney’s right to be safe. Once this money ran out, Susan was left to represent Cobey and Sydney’s best interest herself, without legal representation.
During this time, through litigation and the desire to support safety in their dad’s home, Susan was attending court appearances, drafting motions, working full time, paying the bills of two parents, working with child care facilities, being a physical, emotional and mental support to Cobey and Sydney - all while fielding email after email from opposing counsel.
Additionally, this fight has cost Susan her health. At 37 years old, a CrossFit lover, runner, hiker, volleyball-er, non-smoker, Susan was put on high blood pressure medication for readings of 180/95 last year - a condition that can only be explained by high level, prolonged emotional and mental stress. Continuing on her own, at this pace, will quite certainly kill her.
It also left TeamSuper battered and bruised financially. They lost their home, their car and filed for bankruptcy last March. And I don’t want to glaze over the truth of what it means to be battered and bruised financially. Being battered and bruised financially means that here in Colorado the legal system believes that manipulating someone with money is a crime. It’s called Financial Abuse and it’s a form of Domestic Violence. Controlling someone’s behavior, or ability to be safe, through withholding money (like child support and maintenance) is a crime in Colorado. Sabotaging her employment through creating two separate court cases running concurrently, is a crime. Sabotaging day care by not paying for it in an attempt to bully someone into giving up, is a crime. Running up bills, like taxes, to suffocate someone who is speaking out against you, is a crime. Financial Abuse is Domestic Violence, and it is a crime here in Colorado. A crime that many are never held accountable for.

Once again, Cobey and Sydney have witnessed and been victims of another incident of their father’s abuse. The re-integration plan set forth from the Arapahoe County Courts did NOT ensure the safety of these children from their abuser.
So, what is the next step?
To acquire an emergency restriction of parenting time and begin the permanent modification of parenting time to protect Cobey and Sydney - once and for all.
Susan has been advised, with the opposing counsel being so litigious and historically wanting to bury her financially, this will likely cost at least $10,000 in the first 6 months. That does not include the cost of expert witnesses, or a CFI, or the drafting, filing, court appearances, and other needs that will accompany the permanent order ($30,000+ in order to complete the permanent modification of parenting time).
And so, TeamSuper pushes on – relentless in their pursuit of justice.
They need a community. They need help funding their fight. They need hope.

Pledge, with me, to contribute what you can to support TeamSuper’s hope for safety.
If you would have bought them a $5 treat, please donate that $5 to hope. If you would have made them a $25 dinner, donate that. Whatever you can donate helps. It all matters.
That’s all you have to do, ever.
