Help Team Ontario Sweep to Victory at the 2026 U-20 National Championships!

They did it! After an incredible run at the 2026 Provincials, Team MacDougall from the Fergus Curling Club have officially earned the title of Team Ontario and a spot on the national stage. From March 28 to April 4, 2026, these dedicated athletes are heading to Sudbury, Ontario, to compete in the New Holland Canadian Under-20 Curling Championships.

Meet the Team Our lineup is a group of hard-working students and athletes who have poured their hearts into the sport:

  • Evan MacDougall (Skip): A Geography student at the University of Guelph with previous national experience.
  • Dylan Stockton (Third): Studying Human Kinetics at the University of Guelph and a veteran of multiple U-18 championships.
  • Evan Madore (Second): A Chemical Engineering student at the University of Waterloo with previous national experience.
  • Carson Kay (Lead): A Marketing student competing in his first national championship.
  • Ryne Fisher (Fifth/Alternate): A Grade 12 student at Port Perry High School, just back from representing Canada at the Swiss Cup in Bern, Switzerland with his own competitive team.
  • Jordan Thin (Coach): Successful coach of both varsity and junior competitive teams with previous national experience.

The Road to Sudbury Competing at a national level is a singular honour, but it comes with a significant "to-do" list and even larger expenses. The team will be staying at the official athlete hotel in Sudbury for the duration of the event, with accommodation costs alone projected at over $5,800. On top of that, the team is responsible for vehicle rentals, fuel, specialized equipment, and national-level uniforms.

While we are incredibly grateful for the travel subsidies we've received from Curling Canada and Curling Ontario, these funds only cover a portion of the total cost required to get five players and their coach to the championships.

How You Can Help We are reaching out to our friends, family, and the curling community to help us bridge the gap. Your donations will go directly toward:

  • Safe and reliable transportation and travel to Sudbury.
  • Accommodations to ensure the team is well-rested for their eight-end matches.
  • Team gear and uniforms required to represent Ontario with pride

.

We are so proud of what these young men have achieved so far. Representing Ontario at the national level is a dream come true, and we want to ensure they can focus entirely on their performance on the ice.

Thank you for being part of our journey to the Gold Medal Game! Every donation, no matter the size, brings Team Ontario 1 one step closer to the podium.
