A couple of months ago Mandy felt some sharp pains in her abdomen. She assumed it was a hernia and went to the doctor.  A scan for the hernia discovered a carcinoid growth located in her intestines and abnormal lymph nodes.  After several other scans, and tests, it was discovered that there was a cancer present in both the intestine and the lymph nodes.
The doctors determined that they needed to perform a bowel resection to remove the carcinoid in the intestines, and at the same time, remove the abnormal lymph nodes for biopsy.
As a result, Mandy was given a diagnosis of Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma (DLBCL) and it was recommended that she undergo 6 rounds of Chemotherapy.  These treatment will begin on Wednesday December 12, 2018 and are expected to last for 18 weeks.
During this time, she is expected to experience the negative side effects from the treatments (nausea, extreme fatigue, hair loss and many others) causing her to miss a lot of work.
Mandy is considered self-employed and is unable to file for disability or other benefits that would help supplement the lost income.
While the prognosis is good, this will be a difficult time for Mandy, Bobby and their 4 year old son Hud.
Any aid will be greatly appreciated!!
