Hi, my name is Kate Wood, aka Anita Whiskey. Two of my best roller derby teammates ever, Southern Uncomfort and faith E ist have a beautiful daughter, Elowen, who was diagnosed with Rat Lung Worm at the beginning of the year. They were medevaced to Oahu and Elowen is receiving top notch care from the most knowledgeable medical professionals. However, their ordeal is far from over. Although Elowen is responding well to her treatments, she has many months of rehabilitation and recovery ahead of her. Faith has been by her side the whole time on Oahu and Tennille (Southern) has been traveling back and forth between the Big Island and Oahu to support Faith and Elowen and maintain some sense of order at home.

Elowen & Faith will need to remain on Oahu while Elowen continues to receive physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. This is necessary because the medical services on the Big Island are inadequate to ensure Elowen's continued improvement. Once Elowen is deemed healthy enough to return home, they will still need financial support with ongoing therapy, special equipment, and transportation expenses. They will need to get to a multitude of follow up appointments in Hilo and on Oahu.
