As the Bay Area starts to dry out from weeks of torrential rains and devastating flooding, I am organizing this GoFundMe to benefit my faculty/staff colleagues whose families were greatly impacted by the events. As these beloved members of our community navigate the lengthy insurance claim process and face temporary (but months-long) relocations, repairs, and construction, this fund will defray costs and expenses not covered by insurance.

Here are examples of two colleagues whom we will support:

An esteemed chemistry teacher, his spouse, and their two dogs have been in temporary housing as structural engineers and the city of SF assessed their home. They will be displaced for several months as restoration and construction begin on their home.

A favorite math teacher and her family of four were in an Airbnb for weeks because of significant damage to their home. They have just relocated to an apartment for several months as repair and reconstruction render their home habitable again.

I hope that other colleagues will come forward and accept support as they hear that we have this fund available.

Please give as generously as you can! Thank you for your support.
