Support Taylor's Family in Time of Loss: Funeral Costs
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Rob Petrecca and I come to you all today with the heaviest of hearts to tell you that last night (4/28/2025) at around 9:30 PM, my brother Taylor Wentz passed away at the age of 30. Taylor was born with Spina bifida, which is a birth defect in which a developing baby's spinal cord fails to develop properly. Most might view his condition as a curse or something, but for someone who is supposedly “cursed,” you will never meet anyone as bright and cheerful as Taylor was. His disabilities only made him stronger.
When Taylor was born, all the doctors said he would be lucky if he lived past 26-27. He underwent many major spinal surgeries to help his condition, and he always recovered well. Nothing ever got him down, and he remained happy and positive for every second he lived, which is more than most of us can say.
Although some tasks were more difficult for him than others, he never gave up on anything. Saying he loved baseball would be an understatement for sure. This man could tell you ANY player’s stats no matter how long ago they played. He was like a computer in that aspect! I always joked with our parents that it was probably a good thing he never got into sports betting because he would’ve upset a TON of people haha!
The last two months, Taylor had been undergoing many surgeries, and to recover, he had been transferred to a Rehabilitation Facility for the handicapped. His spirits were high, and he had a projected date to finally return home that we were all looking forward to. When staff went to check on him, he was unresponsive, so 911 was called, and CPR was performed for over an hour. At one point, a slight pulse was detected, but eventually, they pronounced him dead around 9:30 PM.
Taylor was fully disabled, therefore couldn’t earn an income. He lived at home with my parents, who are also on a fixed income, and my older brother, who was his primary caregiver. My family’s financial situation is a scary one, and with his passing sneaking up on everyone, no one was even remotely prepared.
My family and I are asking all of you to find it in your hearts to please help us out. We are in dire need of assistance. Taylor leaves behind lots of medical debt, but the immediate concern is how his funeral will be paid for. Moving forward, however, my family will no longer be receiving Taylor’s money every month, which went to covering their living expenses such as the home, utilities, food, etc. A little goes a long way, and we will all be beyond grateful for any assistance. The last year has been relentless on us. I was in a near-fatal car accident, I lost a child to miscarriage, and now I lost my brother, and my parents lost their son. As a parent myself, that is all of our WORST nightmares. No parent should ever have to bury a child.
We would like to thank you all in advance for any help you can give. Please share our story and pass the word along!
God Bless! Love,
Rob, Adam, Christine & David
