As parents and grandparents, you never imagine having to write something like this about your own children.
Our son, Zach Hillier, and his fiancée, Taylor Bock, mean the world to us. Together, they've built a beautiful life in Harrison, Michigan, raising their two sweet babies—Quinn (3) and little Kian (7 months). Their home is filled with bedtime snuggles, toys scattered across the floor, laughter, and all the busy joy that comes with being young parents.
Recently, their world was turned upside down.
Taylor has been diagnosed with a brain tumor and will undergo a major craniotomy surgery on February 11th. The procedure is expected to last 8-10 hours and will even require waking her during surgery so doctors can test her motor function while removing as much of the tumor as possible.
After surgery, she will spend time in the ICU followed by several days in the hospital. Recovery will include strict lifting restrictions, fatigue, brain fog, and possible weakness. Caring for a toddler and an infant during this time will be incredibly challenging.
Taylor is approaching this with incredible courage and strength, but as her parents, it's heartbreaking knowing we can't simply take this burden away from her.
As Zach's mom and Taylor's mom, we're coming together to support our kids and grandbabies the best way we can.
Between medical bills, trips to the specialists at U of M, travel, hotels, meals, time off work, and extra childcare support during recovery, the expenses will add up quickly. We're starting this fundraiser to help ease that financial stress so Zach and Taylor can focus completely on healing their family.
If you feel led to donate, we are deeply grateful—every amount truly helps. And if donating isn't possible, sharing this page and keeping our family in your thoughts and prayers means just as much!
Thank you for loving our children and surrounding them with support during this difficult time.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Steven and Vanessa, Stephanie, and all of our family.
