I wanted to share something personal and difficult our family is currently facing. My daughter was recently involved in a serious car accident caused by a drunk driver, which resulted in a broken hip. She’s now focused on healing and going through a lengthy recovery process that has temporarily taken her out of work. As a self-employed hairstylist and bartender, she doesn’t have access to traditional benefits or paid leave, which has created some financial challenges. She's also has an 8-year-old daughter that she is responsible for, making this time especially tough.
