Taylor Hallanger was the victim of a vicious assault on April 10, 2025. She was shoved with extreme force through the banister of a second-story deck, breaking through numerous slats, and hitting the ground far below. She has a broken back in multiple places, a broken sternum, and one broken rib. She has undergone emergency back surgery but is still unable to feel her feet or move her toes. It is too soon to say whether or not she will regain the use of her feet. Taylor will be out of work focusing on her recovery for many months to come. While Taylor and her loved ones are optimistic, it is possible she may never fully return to her former life.

Taylor is a tireless advocate for those in need. Whether it is standing up for what is right, or in her work as an RN, she has a passion for doing the right thing always. Taylor is a bottomless well of love and is a mom to 5 cats, 1 dog who was rescued from an abusive environment, and she recently adopted 4 ducklings in need of a home.

Taylor and her family have a very long road ahead. They need immediate financial assistance to cover expenses such as hospital parking, food, and gas for her husband Chris to drive back and forth from their home in Red Wing to Regions in St. Paul. Both Taylor and Chris will have lost wages, which will be an extreme struggle to recover from. In their current situation, they will not be able to pay medical bills, and the debt from this will be significant. Taylor and Chris were saving for costly repairs to the foundation of their over 100-year-old home. These savings have already evaporated.
