Hello my Darlings, I am the vtuber known as TavernTilly (or Madam Tilly) and I need your help. Exactly two weeks ago on December 14th around 4am, I heard odd noises coming from outside and got up out of bed to check,when I entered the living room I saw the entire front porch,door,and windows were engulfed in fire. I woke up my roommate who wouldn't have woken up on his own and surely died. We nearly lost his dog cause she panicked and ran back inside,but she would be rescued by a fire fighter. And all my cats got out thanks to a cat door in my bedroom. The fire ended up destroying half the house. I own the land but did not have any kind of insurance, couldn't afford it in the first place. I only work a part-time minimum wage job baging groceries at Publix. My only option ,aside moving to a distant relatives place ( one in Michigan which would be a culture shock for me cause I never seen snow and the other in the Florida swamp where there is no Internet signal and technology is 20 years behind) is to rebuild. Renting here in Florida is too expensive and so the more practical option is to rebuild since at least i have the land. Despite that I only make 12k a Year, I have to save money and hope I encounter more breaks than obstacles. I will be living like a drifter for the next however long it takes( could be a couple years). Gonna sleep in my shed, use the laundry matt to clean my clothes, use the shower at the gym, hang at places with Wi-Fi to download videos on my phone,pick up every work shift I can get,etc. The reason I took so long to get this fundraiser started is cause the fire left me surprisingly busy. Spent days moving the surviving furniture and appliances into storage before looters came in, went around buying the things I need to get by, bringing all the laundry to the mat to wash out the smoke smell(it was actually a pretty good scent tho),etc. Also, you never think it's gonna happen to you. I ain't someone who begs for help,but I ain't someone too prideful to accept it either. I always preach that the answer is always no untill you ask ,and I preach that accepting help is not weakness. So any help via money,gifts, supportive words,tips on good resources,etc will be accepted and extremely appreciated,just don't give beyond your means. I also am under no delusions that someone is going to give me like 20k(estimate) to get me a new house, but any little bit helps. Your donations can help me with food and other necessities while I save up for example. For those curious,the process for getting re-housed is step 1 get the old house demolished, before the county gets mad about it being a eyesore. Step 2, get the yard cleaned up and looking pretty. Step 3 buy a new house ( I am thinking a tiny home or used single wide trailer is most practical). Step 4, inspectors. And step 5, get everything hooked up. It's gonna be a grind. But my community is worth it. All I want most is to get back to live streaming on twitch. To provide a fun and accepting space for the folks that I consider my friends. Yassss queen! Otherwise I would have taken the option to go off into the countryside and sell the property. But this is the most likely place where I can get back to my streams,my friends,my Darlings! No fire will get rid of me so easily. I will keep moving forward and click the go live button again eventually. Until then I shall keep in touch with everyone and keep y'all updated with any major changes good or bad. 2026 is gonna be a interesting year.
