My name is Tafara Godo, and I am fundraising for my close friend Tasimba Andrew, a Zimbabwean creative artist committed to storytelling.

From Mutare to the World I have known Tasimba since childhood. We grew up in Dangamvura, Mutare, attended primary school together, and later went to school at the African Leadership Academy (ALA).

Even as a young boy, Tasimba had a rare gift for performance. I remember moments when he would do skits for me—raw, funny, and deeply thoughtful pieces that revealed a natural actor long before he had the language to name it. Tasimba is now a multidisciplinary artist—an actor, singer, dancer, and writer—whose work is rooted in human-centered storytelling and the amplification of youth voices.

After graduating from ALA, where he studied Drama, he was selected to join Heart Global Arts’ international touring cast, where he performed in Japan and Europe and facilitated creative arts workshops for students across multiple communities. These experiences strengthened his belief that art can connect people across cultures and spark empathy, hope, and dialogue.

Tasimba has now been accepted by the San Francisco Semester Program at the American Conservatory Theater (ACT)—one of the top respected actor-training institutions in the world. Recognizing his talent and potential, ACT awarded him a 60% tuition scholarship.

This is a rare and life-changing opportunity, especially for an artist from Zimbabwe. However, to participate, Tasimba still needs support to cover living expenses and remaining program costs in San Francisco. Funds are needed by 31 My 2026 to secure housing, travel, and program enrollment.

We are raising $13,700 for Tasimba to perfect his craft on the world stage.
