Hi everyone,
This is incredibly hard for me to share, but I’m facing a serious medical situation and need some help.
Over the last (approximately) 5 years I have been battling with abnormal cell growth that is directly linked to cancer. After medical evaluation, and the removal of my cervix, my doctors have determined that a total hysterectomy is medically necessary to prevent the abnormal cell growth from spreading any further into cancer and to protect my life.
My surgery is scheduled for the 11th of this month, and the urgency is very real.
The hardest part is that I have just been informed that my medical insurance has been canceled. Every part of this surgery and recovery must be paid for entirely out of pocket, though I am going through the necessary avenues to appeal my insurances decision delaying the procedure is not the safest option. The financial burden is overwhelming as it was a complete surprise.
Why my Goal Is set so high?
Without insurance, the estimated costs for this procedure and recovery include:
• Surgery & surgical team: $8,000
• Hospital & operating room fees: $10,000
• Anesthesia: $2,500
• Labs, pathology & testing: $1,500
• Medications & follow-up care: $1,000
• Recovery expenses & lost income: $2,000
Estimated total: $25,000 or more
This fundraiser is meant to help cover a portion of these unavoidable costs so I can move forward with surgery and focus on healing instead of financial survival.
This surgery is not elective—it is life-saving preventive care before radiotherapy may be necessary. This will give me a chance at a healthier future.
Any amount truly helps. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser or keeping me in your thoughts means more than I can say.
With gratitude,
Tasia
