On Saturday the 7th, my dear friend Tasha Winchel faced one of the hardest moments of her life. She attempted suicide, and while we are so grateful she is still with us, the journey ahead will be long and challenging. Tasha is one of the most bubbly, supportive, and kind souls I have ever known. She’s always been determined, overcoming countless obstacles since her youth. Even when life handed her trauma, she fought harder, smiled more, and stayed kind. Her strength has always shone through, especially as a devoted mother to her four beautiful boys—they are her whole world.
Tasha has never shied away from hard work, both physically and mentally. But even the strongest among us can get tired. She’s no stranger to hospital beds, having faced multiple surgeries for heart complications in 2014 and enduring therapies that drained her energy and spirit. Yet, she always managed to keep her hope intact, smiling and finding a way forward for her family. This past year, Tasha finally achieved her dream of owning a home and found joy driving a school bus for our local community—a job she truly loves. She was looking forward to 2026, to summer, to new beginnings. But then illness struck again, leading to more hospital stays and infections. Despite her pain, she continued to support her boys, cheering them on at sports events and filling their days with laughter, all while silently struggling inside.
Tasha has always been the first to offer help in any way she can, whether it’s lending a hand to a neighbor or supporting friends through tough times. I want to share that I have permission from Tasha and her family to start this fundraiser on their behalf. Now, Tasha faces months of recovery and will not be able to return to work until at least September. The bills, however, won’t wait. She has house and vehicle payments, children to care for, and daily expenses that continue to add up. I want to help make things a little easier for Tasha and her boys, so when she returns home, she can focus on her mental health and recovery without the added stress of financial worries. If anyone can help, please donate what you can. If you can’t, please share this story so we can spread the word and help this family get back home and living.
