A few weeks ago, we were simply trying to find answers for symptoms that didn’t seem to make sense. Since then, our lives have been turned upside down.

What started as doctor appointments and testing quickly became hospital stays, specialist consultations, and now an upcoming open-heart surgery. This has all happened much faster than we ever expected, leaving us very little time to prepare.

As we focus on his treatment and recovery over the coming weeks, I’ll be traveling back and forth to NYC to support my husband through surgery and recovery while also caring for our three young children at home. Recovery is expected to be several weeks (around 6–8 weeks) with ongoing follow-up appointments and specialist visits, which will require continued travel and time away from work.

Between travel expenses, time away from work, childcare, and other unexpected costs, we’re facing challenges we never anticipated.

We know times are tough for everyone, and asking for help isn’t something that comes easily.
