hello my name is Tara , the wife of negitta , October, our lives changed overnight.
My wife was diagnosed with stage 4 adenocarcinoma. What started as symptoms we hoped were manageable quickly became hospital visits, emergency scans, and words no family is ever prepared to hear — “advanced,” “aggressive,” and “incurable.”
Since then, our life has revolved around hospitals, specialists, scans, blood transfusions, procedures, and endless decisions. She underwent chemotherapy and aggressive treatments in hopes of slowing the cancer, but her body has been fighting an uphill battle.
Over the past several months, complications have continued to grow. She developed malignant pleural effusions (fluid around her lungs), requiring drainage procedures and a permanent catheter. She has needed repeated blood transfusions due to severe anemia. Her heart has been strained. Her body has become weaker.
Most recently, we were told the words no spouse is ready to hear — that we are now in the final phase of this disease.
Through all of this, I have been her primary caregiver while also caring for our two babies — Helena, our two-year-old who is autistic and thrives on routine and stability, and Elijah, our 12 month old who still needs constant hands-on care.
I am a stay-at-home mom. My wife was our primary provider, and she lost her job due to her illness. Our family has been living off savings while facing rent, childcare costs, and daily living expenses.
Right now, my focus is making sure she is comfortable, surrounded by love, and at peace — while also trying to hold our family together for our children.
We are asking for support to help cover this trying time.
This has been the hardest chapter of our lives. If you cannot donate, sharing this means just as much. Every bit of support helps us breathe a little easier during an unbearable time.
Thank you for standing with our family.
She just passed today 2/19 , she stayed strong until the end.
