Tara and Jesse’s house caught fire. It started in the living room and caused extensive damage throughout the house. Their home is now unlivable due to the smoke and structural damage. They have two young children: Kora (5) and Finely (2). Thankfully everyone is safe, and their dogs and cats are fine.
They are currently staying with family while trying to figure out what comes next, but the immediate needs are many: clothing, toiletries, temporary housing, furniture, and the basic essentials to begin rebuilding their lives.
Insurance will take time, and it will not cover many of the costs or the irreplaceable items lost in the fire. We want to help them get back on their feet and relieve some of the stress.
Any amount, no matter how small, will make a difference in helping them start rebuilding their lives after this loss. If you’re unable to give, please know that we appreciate your thoughts and prayers during this time.
From Tara:
“I don’t even know where to start. The heartbreak and devastation of last night is overwhelming. Our house caught on fire - taking memories and our home with it. Thankfully the house is still standing but we have no idea the extent of the damage.
I was in shock until we were able to come back today to walk through. To see the kids toys, all of our hard work, family valuables gone, shreds to the soul. The thing that hurts the most is telling Kora and Finley we can’t go home, that we can’t come get their toys. The entire house is smoke damage and we only walked out with the clothes on our backs.
Everyone made it out safe - us, the kids, the dogs, and the cats. We are definitely heartbroken and lost but we are together and we are ready to face this. Thank you to everyone who reached out, continues to check in, and those who will help us in the future. We need you more than you know.”
