Tara is fighting aggressive breast cancer, your support can give her the time, care, and peace of mind she needs to focus on healing and her daughter.
In June, my sister Tara was diagnosed with an aggressive breast cancer that had already spread to her lymph nodes. What was meant to be a summer of simple joys with her little girl, trips to the park, time at home together, and making memories, quickly turned into hospital visits, multiple surgeries, and preparing for several months of chemotherapy and radiation.
Tara had left her full time job in the spring to spend more time with her daughter this summer, taking a role that would start part time and switch to full time this fall. Instead, cancer has forced her onto a very different path. The exhausting side effects of treatment will prevent her from working as planned, and with that comes financial challenges for her and her husband, Dan.
Through it all, Tara has shown incredible strength. She even cut her hair short before chemo and donated it so that others in need could benefit. Her greatest wish now is to focus on her recovery while making this difficult time as steady and reassuring as possible for her daughter, who is just beginning to understand that “mama has a boo-boo.”
Your generosity will make a difference by helping cover things like:
-Daily living expenses
(transportation to appointments, meals, childcare, utilities)
-Medical costs not covered by insurance
-Loss of income during treatment and recovery
Every contribution, no matter the size, helps Tara and her family breathe a little easier and gives her the precious time and space to heal. Your support will give Tara the chance to focus on being the loving mom her daughter needs, instead of worrying about bills.
If you’re unable to contribute financially, please consider sharing this fundraiser with your network. Every share extends our circle of support and brings Tara closer to the stability she and her family need during this fight. Messages of encouragement also mean the world, they lift Tara’s spirits on the hardest days.
Thank you for standing with Tara, for easing her family’s burden, and for helping her focus on what matters most: her recovery and her loved ones.
