My parents opened the first Taqueria Los Ocampo in Minneapolis on Lake and 5th back in 2003, driven by a passion for sharing our family’s recipes and creating a welcoming space for our community. Over the years, thanks to the incredible support of our guests and the dedication of our team, we have grown to eight locations. Our staff has always been the heart of our business, and none of our success would have been possible without their hard work and commitment.
Recently, we made the difficult decision to temporarily close all of our restaurants due to ongoing federal activity in the Twin Cities. This was done to protect the safety and well-being of our employees and guests. The closure has stopped our revenue, but we remain committed to supporting our team. Many of our employees rely on hourly wages, and this sudden interruption has created immediate financial strain for them and their families. Even though we are not open generating revenue, we are doing everything we can to continue paying our staff during this uncertain time.
If you are looking for ways to help, we encourage you to purchase merchandise from our website, buy online gift cards, or donate to this Staff Relief Fund. Any contribution—whether through merchandise, gift cards, donations, or sharing this message—makes a meaningful difference. We are deeply grateful for the continued support of our community during this challenging time. This fund is dedicated primarily to staff relief, and we will provide updates as conditions change and we move toward reopening.
