Taphouse 61 has been a local staple in the community for 11 years. For five of those years, I’ve been going there nearly every day to either play video games on the TV or watch whatever sport was on. Tap has become so much more than just a local business—it’s been a second family to me and countless others in St. Pete. The staff at Tap have always gone above and beyond, not just serving drinks and hosting amazing community potlucks, but also creating a welcoming space where everyone feels at home. Over the years, they’ve brought our community together, hosted events, supported local causes, and been there for us in good times and bad. Their kindness and generosity have touched so many lives, making Tap a true community pillar.
Recently, the staff at Taphouse 61 received devastating news: due to unfortunate circumstances, the business will be closing its doors with only one month’s notice. This sudden change has made it impossible for the business to continue, and now the staff are facing job loss and an uncertain future. Many of them have families to support, and with such short notice, they’re scrambling to find new jobs and figure out their next steps. It’s a heartbreaking situation for people who have always been there for us.
That’s why I’m starting this fundraiser—to give back to the staff who have given so much to our community. The funds raised will go directly toward their living expenses as they search for new opportunities and begin the difficult process of closing up the business. For those who know, Tap has always been a place where we could connect, celebrate, and support one another. Now, it’s our turn to support the staff in their time of need. Any contribution, big or small, will help alleviate some of the financial pressure and stress they’re facing. Let’s come together and show the Tap staff how much they mean to us. Thank you for your kindness and support.
Special thanks to:
