I am trying to raise money for my mom & family during this incredibly difficult transition to hospice care.

In 2024 my mom, Tanya, was diagnosed with stage 4 leiomyosarcoma- a very rare and aggressive smooth muscle cancer that originated in her uterus.

The cancer had already metastasized to both lungs and her bones by the time she began treatment in September of 2024. She had a team of specialists from here and John’s Hopkins working on her treatment plan as she was inoperable from the start and given a more than poor prognosis.

For OVER A YEAR she fought HARD through 3 different chemotherapy lines of defense, and was gearing up to try a new clinical trial when we hit a wall.

The original uterine tumor has grown to a massive 25 x 19 cm now, as well as there being growth everywhere in the lungs, and it has additionally spread to her liver. All complications from this have kept her in and out of the hospital for a few weeks before it was decided to place her on hospice care.

This past year has been a whirlwind for the entire family emotionally, spiritually and financially of course. The kindness of people over the last year though is one of the main things (besides Jesus) I think contributed to my mom being able to fight as long and as hard as she has, and I pray that kindness doesn’t stop now. There wasn’t a single day that she hasn’t shown her love and light to everyone around her. I pray she can be surrounded with the same love and light in this part of her journey.

Our family has taken a lot of time off of work, my stepfather Bill being the main caretaker up until this point. We are asking for help, from all who are able, to assist with everyday bills and expenses, the in home care costs not covered by insurance, and all things to come.
