Tanya Geary Comfort has been a lifelong resident of Lorain county. She is well known by many from her involvement with her occupation as well as personal interests. 

The music industry knows her as drummer of 41 years, beginning in junior high school, then progressing to playing in different local bands throughout her adult life. 

Tanya is also an animal activist, who holds this cause very dear to her heart, participating in presentations and protests to speak for living beings without a voice. 

In her own words, she states, “I’ve always loved animals and had many companion animals as friends, done things to help animals since the age of 13 and then 6years ago officially became an animal rights activist.” 

As an occupation, Tanya has been a managing cosmetologist for 35 years. 

She is the owner of Hairapy salon, in Elyria, OH.

Recently, while exiting her home, Tanya tripped and fell down her back porch steps, resulting in a compound fracture that extended from her thigh down below her knee. This required surgery to repair such devastating damage. A large plate and 14 pins were put in, secured by 41 staples and 4 stitches. She had to stay an inpatient rehabilitation facility for 2 weeks, and is finally back home. It’s very difficult for her to even get around the house and she must use a walker. Zero weight can be placed on the leg for a while as it is healing. 

Beyond that, the timeframe is uncertain, as to how many months it will be, before she can resume her normal activities, etc.

Unfortunately, the bills don’t stop coming in, not to mention the new medical bills. This was unexpected and will be a devastating financial blow to she and her husband Calvin, who both work to support the household.

Tanya has been a very dear friend of mine for over 30 years and if there’s anyway you can help whatever you can give would definitely be appreciated to help her through this difficult time.
