Tanya and her family need our help.
On Saturday, June 8th, Tanya and her three kids were in a rollover accident on the Seward Highway, completely crushing their vehicle. They flipped several times over the side of the road near Summit Lake. Their crash was not visible from the road.
Tanya was pinned in her vehicle and unable to move, but somehow she and her son Captain were able to get her two young children loose. From the terrifying position she was in, she coached her children to walk up to the highway and flag down a driver and thankfully, they stopped.
Tanya's life was saved by eight paramedics and good Samaritans, who rescued her from the vehicle and carried her up the mountainside. From there, she had to be medevaced to the nearest hospital in Anchorage. Thankfully, Tanya's children walked away with minor cuts and scrapes, truly a mother's love that saved all of them.
Tanya has four broken ribs and two fractured vertebrae, and is on mandatory bed rest for 6 - 8 weeks in a back brace while she heals. During this time she will not be able to work because the brace restricts her movement. Tanya's income provides much needed stability to her young family, and the stress of the accident plus the future loss of income has her (understandably) stressed.
I'm asking you to consider donating to help Tanya and her family recover from this accident. It could've happened to anyone, and I'm just so glad that my sister's heroic actions saved her family. A donation of any amount, even $5, will help cover the cost of medical bills, the complete loss of a vehicle, and help make ends meet while she is unable to work.
