While traveling in Germany, my mother experienced a severe medical emergency. She was admitted to the hospital with a high fever, nausea, and chills, struggling to stay conscious. Upon arrival, blood tests revealed that she was septic, necessitating immediate transfer to another hospital for specialized treatment.

Further examinations uncovered a serious infection in her stomach and ovaries, as well as appendicitis. Doctors administered multiple IV and oral antibiotics, but her condition worsened rapidly, leading to emergency abdominal surgery. By God’s grace, she survived the operation, during which her appendix and an ovary were removed, and her intestines were thoroughly cleansed. She then spent over a week in the ICU, receiving intensive care and heavy medications.

Throughout this ordeal, our family endeavored to provide her insurance information to the German medical staff, hoping it would cover the expenses. A compassionate doctor even sought sponsors to assist with the bills, successfully securing partial coverage. However, upon her return home after more than two months abroad, we discovered that her insurance would not cover the out-of-country medical costs.

Thanks to the generous sponsor, a significant portion of the expenses has been covered, yet my mother still faces $10,000 in medical bills. To make matters more challenging, she is unable to work full-time due to the lengthy recovery process and the toll this experience has taken on her body.
