My name is Jenn Murphy & I’m helping to raise money for one of the strongest people I know, Tanya Matta.

In October 2018, Tanya was diagnosed with Stage 3 Neuroendocrine Carcinoma. Despite the news, Tanya continued working 2 jobs so she could pay her bills. Tanya eventually had to have surgery removing 3/4 of her stomach, 40 lymph nodes, and her gall bladder. Days after her surgery, Tanya developed sepsis, which was attacking her heart. She took ten weeks to recover, never asking anyone for anything.

In November 2024, after a routine scan, Tanya was told her cancer had metastasized to her liver, being deemed inoperable. With treatment, they have given my beautiful friend only 5-7 years to live.

Tanya has begun monthly injections with the hopes of slowing down the progression of the tumor. Her doctor decided it would be best for her to take a leave of absence from work to rest and find ways to mentally come to terms with the news.

As Tanya tries her best to keep up with the constant medical bills, medication costs, co-pays, deductibles, and life in general, Tanya is now struggling financially.

Tanya is the most selfless person I know! Putting her loved ones first and never ever asking anyone for anything or ever asking for anything in return. She is a wife, a mother, a daughter, a friend, and most importantly, a grandma!

Tanya does not need or deserve any added stress as she tries to find a way to navigate forward with her terminal illness. That is why I am asking for your support as she is too proud to because that is not who she is.
