Hello, my name is Tania, and I recently went through one of the most difficult moments of my life.

On July 21st, I was injured in an unfortunate accident. Out of ignorance, I tried to break up a fight between two dogs and ended up getting badly hurt. I went to the hospital right away, and after several hours, I was given pain medication, sent home, and prescribed oral antibiotics.

However, the next day (Tuesday the 22nd), I returned to the hospital because I wasn’t feeling well and was concerned about my symptoms. They advised me to continue the treatment, but on Wednesday the 23rd, in the afternoon, I noticed that my arm had become very red, swollen, and hot to the touch, so I decided to go back to the ER.

This time, after examining me, the doctors decided to hospitalize me immediately because I needed urgent treatment. I stayed in the hospital for several days, underwent surgical drainage, and received IV antibiotics. Before I was discharged, they placed a PICC line so I could continue receiving intravenous antibiotics at home for several weeks.

Thankfully, I’m now recovering at home, but the medical costs have been overwhelming. Just one of the antibiotics I need to continue my treatment is very expensive, as it must be administered through the PICC line by a specialized nurse who visits my home. And that’s not counting the other medications, check-ups, and care I still need moving forward.

I'm starting this fundraiser in the hope of receiving a helping hand. Any support, no matter how small, would mean the world to me and will be deeply appreciated.

Hola, mi nombre es Tania y recientemente pasé por uno de los momentos más difíciles de mi vida.

El pasado 21 de julio sufrí un accidente por ignorancia: quise intervenir entre dos perros que estaban peleando y terminé lastimada. Fui de inmediato al hospital, donde después de varias horas me dieron medicamento para el dolor, me enviaron a casa y me recetaron antibióticos por vía oral.

Sin embargo, al día siguiente (martes 22) volví al hospital porque no me sentía bien y los síntomas me preocupaban. Me dijeron que continuara con el tratamiento, pero el miércoles 23, en horas de la tarde, noté que mi brazo estaba muy rojo, inflamado y caliente, así que decidí regresar a urgencias.

Esta vez, al examinarme, los médicos decidieron hospitalizarme de inmediato porque

requeria tratamiento urgente. Estuve internada varios días, me realizaron un drenaje quirúrgico y me administraron antibióticos por iv y antes de salir me colocaron un PICC line para seguir administrando antibióticos intravenosos durante varias semanas.

Por suerte, ya estoy en casa, pero los gastos médicos han sido muy altos. Tan solo uno de los antibióticos que necesito para seguir mi recuperación tiene un costo elevado, ya que me lo deben suministrar a través del PICC line y requiere la visita de una enfermera especializada que lo administra en casa. Y esto sin contar los otros medicamentos, controles y cuidados que aún tengo por delante.

Estoy creando esta campaña con la esperanza de recibir una mano amiga. Cualquier ayuda, por pequeña que sea, hará una gran diferencia y será recibida con infinito agradecimiento.
