Hi my name is Maria. I created this Go Fund Me for my cousin Taneisha (Shawn) Flood. On Tuesday, June 24th, a day that should have been joyous (her 51st birthday) ended in a tragic accident that almost cost her her life. She was hit head on causing several injuries that included a partially collapsed lung, slightly punctured kidney, fractured ribs, a shattered kneecap and broken leg. She is on a long road to recovery and may be hospitalized for a few weeks.

While she does have some benefits, after reading through them, it is not going to be enough and I want to do whatever I can to to help her alleviate some of the pressure that she is going to face in the coming months.

Shawn is charismatic and outgoing which draws people to her. She doesn’t just have herself to worry about. She is the primary bread winner in the household covering the vast majority of the bills while caring for her elderly mother (80) and assisting with the care of some of our younger cousins.

Any funds raised will go to help with outstanding medical expenses as well as assisting with their bills due to disability insurance not covering 100% of her pay. All donations are greatly appreciated.
