Support for healing Journey
Early December, Tamra ended up with pneumonia. She started feeling better from it and was slowly getting over it when, on Christmas Day, she ended up at the ER with flu A, an enlarged heart, and fluid on the heart and lungs. She was admitted for observation and tests for about four days when she ended up being diagnosed with (CHF) congestive heart failure.
She has been home and not released back to work, waiting for an angiogram that got rescheduled by the doctor. It is now scheduled for February 5th.
James celebrated his birthday on the 25th at home, watching movies with the grandkids. He started feeling very hot and flushed and was bright red, with blurry vision, and just didn’t feel right. His BP was very low, and his blood sugar was high. We decided to take him to Purcell Hospital. With the icy weather, I didn’t know if there would be delays going to Norman. His BP then got pretty high at 183/115, his blood sugar was in the 350s, and his troponin level was elevated at 68 (heart enzyme), indicating he’s having some kind of cardio event. Mind you, at this point, he is completely asymptomatic, feeling like he can go do anything.
Purcell, not being equipped, transferred us to Midwest City where they could run more tests. We got there late Sunday night, early Monday morning, and all the tests began. His blood work did not look great, and his levels just kept rising. They decided they needed to do an angiogram, and that surgery for a stent was very likely. Not having a surgeon or ORs at Midwest City, we were then transferred to Saint Anthony’s Midtown. Downtown, being the main artery, middle, and needed bypass. We found that out late Monday night. It’s taking a little bit to get everything else figured out and the spot open in the ER with our surgeon, but he is going in at 7:30 AM this morning.
Please send all prayers, good vibes, and support that you can, praying for a successful and complication-free surgery and a smooth healing process. Both will be out of work for a while, and we still don’t know what Tamra’s results will be for her angiogram on the 5th.
