If love, kindness, and selflessness could heal, our mom would already be cured.
Our mom, Tammy Maubach, has been diagnosed with Stage 4 (end-stage) COPD, a progressive lung disease that severely damages the airways and greatly limits her ability to breathe. Because of how advanced her condition is, the only option to improve her quality of life is a single or double lung transplant.
We are just starting to work with Loyola University Medical Center to complete the extensive testing phase required before she can be approved and listed for transplant. This phase involves many medical appointments, long travel to and from the city, and unavoidable expenses. Once testing is complete, her medical team will determine if she is a candidate and if she can officially be placed on the transplant list.
Anyone who knows our mom knows she would give the shirt off her back to help someone else. She raised us to be kind, compassionate, and supportive of others — and now, she deserves that same love and support in return.
This journey has been emotionally, physically, and financially overwhelming. Our mom has never been one to ask for help, but she has always been the first to give it. Now, we are asking on her behalf.
Any donation, share, or prayer is deeply appreciated. All funds will go directly toward travel, lodging during testing, medications, meals, and other necessary expenses related to this critical phase of her transplant evaluation process.
From the bottom of our hearts — thank you for your love, support, and kindness during this difficult time, but mom is a warrior and we WILL push on.
