Hello Friends and Family,

As most of you know, our sister Tammy has been fighting a lung disease brought on by an autoimmune disease for the last 5 years.

She is currently admitted to UCSF after waiting two weeks at St. Agnes for a bed to open up.

In order for Tammy to come home, she will need a double lung transplant. On Wednesday of last week, she was officially approved and placed on the donor list. Now the waiting game begins. It could be 2 days, 2 weeks, or 2 months before there’s a match.

Thankfully, so far the insurance is cooperating and medical expenses have not yet become an issue (hopefully it stays that way), but travel back and forth and lodging for family adds up.

This is where we need your help. The real expense happens after the surgery. Following the initial in-hospital post-op period, Tammy will need to stay in San Francisco, 30 minutes from the hospital, with a 24-hour caregiver for two months.
