Help Tammy Tesky Ausen and Her Family Rebuild After an Unimaginable Loss
Late at night on Saturday, December 20, 2025—just days before Christmas—Tammy Tesky Ausen (Whole Woman's Health Alliance Development Director) and her family faced a moment that no one is ever prepared for. A fire broke out in their home shortly after midnight, turning what should have been a joyful, peaceful holiday season into something heartbreaking and surreal.
Thanks to quick action and incredible luck, Tammy, her husband Travis, their daughter Ana, and Tammy’s in-laws all made it out safely. Three of their four beloved cats were rescued as well. Their fourth cat, Sam, was heard inside by firefighters, but could not be found. The family is devastated but holding onto hope that Sam is okay and will be found soon.
Only hours before the fire, Tammy had finished preparing their home for Christmas and was looking forward to the holiday with her family. In an instant, all of it was gone.
They fled in pajamas, grabbing only coats, boots, and gloves. Everything else—clothing, essentials, memories, comforts—was lost. Their home is no longer livable, and while insurance will place them in a hotel, they have nothing with them as they try to navigate the first painful steps after this tragedy.
Why Your Help Matters
In the days ahead, Tammy and her family will need to replace the absolute basics: clothing, toiletries, food, and other essentials. These are the things people never think about until they suddenly disappear.
Your support will give them breathing room in a moment filled with shock, grief, fear, and uncertainty. Your kindness will help them steady themselves after a loss that struck at the most tender time of the year.
