Support Tammy Orosz's Fight Against Stage 4 Lung Cancer

Donation protected
I am writing this with a heavy heart to share some difficult news about my best friend, Tammy Orosz, who has been diagnosed with stage 4 non-smoking lung cancer which has also spread to her liver, lymph nodes, and spine.

Tammy recently had shortness of breath which resulted in her being admitted to the hospital. They immediately drained a liter and a half of fluid from her lung, which allowed her to breathe again. Further testing revealed a 5 cm mass in her lung which already had “branches”. After spending 5 days in the hospital, she was sent to an oncologist who, after reviewing the tests, confirmed our worst fears - that she has stage 4 lung cancer. Not only that, but she has a rare form that requires a specific new drug before chemotherapy can be an option. The cancer has also metastasized to lesions in her liver, lymph nodes, and her spine. On top of that, only a week after getting out of the hospital, she was back in to have a pleurX catheter installed and had an additional liter of fluid drained from her lung. On October 24th, she will be starting a newly-researched aggressive and debilitating treatment. This treatment has already been delayed once due to other medical issues, but we're hopeful that she can recover quickly so that she can start it as soon as possible. Unfortunately, the side effects of this will keep her from doing any type of work while receiving it and possibly at all in the future.

If you know Tammy, you know she already endured a life-threatening stroke at the age of 42 which left her permanently disabled. Now, she is using every part of her strength to fight this horrible disease, and she needs to ask for help.

Because of the rare type of cancer she has, Tammy has been given only 3 to 6 months to live without the new treatment. If it works, and there is no further mutation, she can add chemotherapy to the list of treatments. We're hoping the chemo stops the cancer from spreading, as this would give her precious additional time. But again, all of this is ONLY if there is no additional mutation. And although most of the treatment is covered by insurance, Tammy has no way to cover any of her expenses outside of the minimal monthly disability payment she receives, since she will no longer be able to work the hours that were allowed by the disability program.

This is why we are asking for your help. Any donation, no matter the size, would be deeply appreciated and will go directly towards Tam’s daily living expenses. Your generosity will allow Tam to fight without additional worry. If you are unable to donate, simply sharing this campaign would be an incredible help. Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity during this difficult time.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. - Psalm 23
