Tammy Diggs has been a beloved waitress and bartender at Sam N Omies in Nags Head since she was 18, but her connection to the restaurant goes back even further. She started working there at just 14, folding napkins, hostessing, and helping out wherever she was needed. Over the years, Tammy has become a fixture in the Outer Banks community, known for her kindness, hard work, and the friendships she’s built with locals and visitors alike.
Now, Tammy is facing one of the toughest challenges of her life: a diagnosis of colorectal cancer. She lives alone in Wanchese, with no other income, and is currently undergoing massive chemotherapy and radiation treatments. The journey ahead is long and difficult, and she needs to travel regularly to Chesapeake for treatments and checkups. On top of medical expenses, Tammy is struggling to keep up with daily bills, food, rent, and the never-ending costs that come with fighting cancer.
Tammy is not only a mother and grandmother, but also a cherished friend to so many in the Outer Banks. Any support would mean the world to Tammy and it will be gratefully appreciated. Your help can make a real difference in her life as she faces this challenge with courage and hope.
