Support Tammy Davis in Her Cancer Battle

Hello, my name is Terri Swain. I am fundraising to help my niece with medical bills and expenses.

Tammy Davis has been diagnosed with Adrenocortical Carcinoma (ACC), a very rare and very aggressive form of cancer. She was diagnosed 2 months ago. The initial tumor is larger than the normal fist. The cancer has quickly spread to her lungs and to her liver. Tammy is unable to work and is currently hospitalized. She has been unable to return to work since being diagnosed in May. She has spent a total of 4 weeks since then in the hospital. Tammy is an LPN that works for the VA in Lawton. Her insurance is through her husband's employer, however it has limited benefits and the expenses are already adding up, as well as co-pays for medications.

Tammy applied for Social Security Disability shortly after receiving the diagnosis of ACC. She has recently learned that she was denied Social Security Disability because she has not contributed enough quarters in the last 10 years. The majority of the employers she has worked for do not contribute to social security since they have 401K. Tammy is only 44 years old and unable to access any of her retirement. This has left Tammy with no income at all. She can not pay her portion of medical expenses after insurance and she can not cover her medication copays. She also has no money for food or other expenses such as electric, phone, water, etc.
