Help Support Tammy Burger in Her Fight Against Colon Cancer

Our mom, Tammy Burger, has recently received the devastating news that she has colon cancer. As you can imagine, this diagnosis has brought overwhelming emotions, difficult decisions, and new financial challenges.

Tammy is one of the most selfless people we know. She has dedicated her life to caring for others—working as a full-time caregiver for two individuals who rely on her daily support. Unfortunately, because of her illness and treatments, Tammy will no longer be able to remain as mobile and hands-on in her work as she has always been. This means she and her husband, Matt, must pay out of pocket for respite care—trusted caregivers who step in to take care of the individuals Tammy supports when she is unable to do so.

On top of this, her husband Matt has made a huge sacrifice to be home by her side during this fight. For years, he has worked tirelessly as a truck driver, providing for their family. But in order to support Tammy through her treatments and recovery, he has taken a smaller route. While this allows him to be present and help her, it also means a significant loss of income during a time when their expenses are rising.

The truth is—cancer is not only an emotional and physical battle, but also a financial one. Between the cost of respite care, medical bills, daily living expenses, and the loss of income, this journey has placed an incredible burden on Tammy and Matt. They have always been the first to step up and care for others, but now they need the support of their community, friends, and loved ones.
