Support Tammie's Expanding Dog Care

Hello, we are Tammie’s Dog Services & Training located in Portage, IN. Tammie started her business at the beginning of 2020. Tammie traveled within a 15-mile radius to serve customers' dogs while they were at work. She would then schedule training with owners in the evening in the basement of a friend’s house or in the owner's home. When she started to become busier, she invested in moving into a small 1,400 sq ft office space in 2021 at 6313 Central Ave. In a short time, we outgrew that location. We then started to look for a bigger location when 6315-6317 Central opened, and we moved into a 2,800 sq ft office in the fall of 2022. Here, we were able to hold 12 large/medium dogs and about 12 small breeds. We still made things work for us, but once again, we were capped at what we could make due to not enough space, and our lease was coming to an end in 2024. We knew then we needed to find a new location that would be satisfying for us to continue to grow in and never outgrow. That is when we found 3564 Scottsdale St, the old empty Northshore Medical Building. We knew then it would be a perfect setup for our business. The only issue we saw here was how to get a fence, astro turf, accumulate a staff to help, pay the rent on the facility, and how to pay Nipsco in such a large place, let alone have money to fix any huge items it needed.

This is where we are asking for any help from our community and families. We need help raising the funds to put down astro turf for our dogs to play in our backyard now that the landlord provided fencing for us. We have been able to start a small staff and, for the most part, stay up with our bills. Now things are starting to become a little overwhelming with the utilities and such. Payroll has been a struggle to keep up with and the finances.
