Anyone who knows Tamia Collier—also known as Mia Munro—knows she is the last person who would ever ask for help. She’s proud, she’s strong, and she’s used to being the one who lifts everyone else up. But sometimes even the pillars of our community need support, and this time, it’s our turn to show up for her.

In January, Tamia will be undergoing gender affirming surgery, a monumental step in her journey. While she faces it with her signature grace and bravery, the recovery will require her to be off work for about a month, leaving her with financial strain during a time when she should be focused solely on healing.

Tamia is more than a beloved drag queen in San Francisco. She is a Mother, a ballroom leader, and a guiding light to countless friends, performers, and chosen family.
