Support Tami and Tank Through Tough Times

Donation protected
So Tami and Tank got awesome news yesterday! They don’t think Tank has bone cancer and it is more so a reflection of arthritis! We are so happy! He will still have his tumors removed in the near future, which will obviously cost more money. Please, if you can help out in anyway lessen the stress, perhaps even as a celebration of the good news, it would be greatly appreciated!

My name is Marci and I am starting a GoFundMe page (first timer here) for my friend Tami and her best friend Tank. Tank and Tami are best friends and the most awesome neighbors we could ask for. Tank has been going through some tough times the past few months. It started with an ACL tear in April and went to Appleton and had two screws, a plate and some bone removed to repair that. He had some therapy and restrictions for 8 weeks and of course the “ring of shame” lol. He was doing great and went back for follow up x-rays on May 30 to hopefully be cleared and they ended up finding two skin masses. They biopsied them and found out on June 3 that one is melanoma and the other possibly sarcoma. He was scheduled to have surgery to have the tumors removed today however on June 12, he started limping on his right front leg and they found a lump in his right arm pit, same side as the ACL repair. They x-rayed his front leg and found out it is bone cancer. Surgery was still on for today however when Tami and Tank arrived this morning, surgery was put on hold because of the bone cancer in his leg. He isn't a candidate to remove the leg being it is his front leg and the same side as the ACL repair and also because of how big he is (but he has been losing some weight on a diet). Unfortunately the first ACL surgery cost $7000, which is on a payment plan. If there is additional surgery or treatment, costs will continue to rise. If it is decide to pursue no further treatment, end of life costs will also add up.

Tank and Tami are best friends and the love that Tami has for Tank is absolutely priceless. Anyone who has come in contact with Tank is well aware who he is as he greets you with gentle kindness and fun! Our two girls (ages 5 and 10) absolutely LOVE Tank and whenever he sees us coming, he knows just who we are and welcomes us with tons of kisses! And he knows we might have toys or treats! ;) Tami, who is also a CNA, is one of the most caring and compassionate people I know and would do anything for anyone, especially her best friend Tank. This difficult time has come with hard decisions and financial strain and she is trying to navigate through it all with strength and hope.

So as you read this story, try to remember a time when perhaps you were in need, feeling down and hopeless, maybe lost a pet or loved one, and needed some love and support. Please try to find it in your heart to help out Tami and Tank however you can. I, myself, put down my first pet, my cat Margaret, about a year and a half ago after 18 years of loving her, and that was absolutely the hardest thing I have ever had to do. The love that we as humans have for our pets is undeniably unconditional love. Although the future is unknown for Tank at this time, please say a prayer for his health and recovery, and if you are able to help out, it would more than greatly appreciated! I have never started a page or fundraiser like this, but I am trying to help out however I can. Thank you and please share this post if you are able to spread the word and get a great response.
