Life can change in an instant. For our dear friend Tameisha Jenkins, that instant began in February when she found a lump. What followed was a whirlwind of medical milestones: a mammogram in April, a biopsy in May, and then, on May 6, 2025, the devastating news—breast cancer in her left breast. Since that day, everything has moved at lightning speed. The endless stream of appointments, consultations, and life-altering decisions has been overwhelming, but Tameisha has faced every hurdle with grace, prayer, and the support of her incredible care team led by Dr. Bowman and Dr. Ma.

After deep research and much soul-searching, Tameisha made the brave decision to undergo a double mastectomy with DIEP reconstruction. She took a major step forward by completing the first surgery in this multi-phase process. While she is grateful for the progress, this journey is far from over.
