Tamara White, a cherished South Cove resident for over 30 years, has faced more than her fair share of battles. Having courageously defeated breast cancer twice in the past 18 years, Tamara is now facing her most challenging fight yet.
In late October, after experiencing difficulty breathing on one of her beloved walks, she received devastating news: her cancer has returned and metastasized. With limited options and a grim prognosis from local providers, Tamara chose to seek specialized treatment in Houston, and feels very blessed to have been accepted into a promising clinical trial.
Unfortunately, participating in the clinical trial requires frequent travel to Houston. Initially, Tamara and Bob have weekly appointments in Houston for five weeks as she begins treatment in the trial. In the new year the cadence will shift to every three weeks for treatment, and this will last for an indefinite period of time. The costs of this frequent travel associated with this life-saving care are not covered by her insurance and have already been exorbitant.
Tamara has been a beacon of faith, love, and kindness in our community—an unwavering follower of Christ, a wonderful neighbor, a devoted mother to four, and a proud grandmother (with her fourth grandchild expected this month!).
Now, she needs our help. Any contribution you can make will ease the financial burden on Tamara and her family, allowing them to focus on her healing journey. Your support means the world to them.
Thank you for standing with Tamara in this fight. Together, we can show her the same love and generosity she has shared with all of us.
