Support Tamara in Her Fight Against Cancer

Hi, my name is Carly, and my family and I are reaching out for support in my mom's fight against Liposarcoma. A few months ago, Tamara started having intense pains in her abdomen. After a trip to the emergency room, we discovered that she has a rare and aggressive type of sarcoma located on her lower aorta and pressing on a kidney. Since then, she has undergone multiple rounds of chemotherapy in hopes of shrinking the tumor. In October, Tamara will face a complicated surgery that involves removing the tumor, a kidney, and part of her aorta. While she has been exceptionally brave and determined during this difficult time, these treatments are both physically and mentally draining. In order for her to receive her care, she will have to recover in New York City (where the surgery will take place) for up to a month post-op. After surgery, she will have to continue treatment with radiation and potentially more chemotherapy. These treatments, travel and living expenses, medications, and surgery are financially challenging. While insurance has helped, it does not cover many aspects of this fight.
