Support Talyn Heinen's Battle with Breast Cancer

I am raising funds on behalf of my little sister, Talyn Heinen, her husband Craig, and her two sons Brentley (6) and Huxley (3). Talyn received the call on November 29th that no one wants, “You have cancer.” She was diagnosed with breast cancer (HER2 triple positive as well as invasive ductal carcinoma). We don’t know much so far, but we know that it has metastasized and the journey ahead is not going to be an easy one. While we know that her cancer has spread, we are hopeful that it remains regional, or hasn’t spread beyond the lymph node near her breast. We anxiously await more information. She meets with a surgeon on December 5th and oncology on December 9th.

As strong as my sister is in her beliefs, she is just as giving. She will be the first to dish out a compliment to a complete stranger, the first to thank a veteran for their service, and has dedicated the last couple of years of her life to animal rescue, but mainly reptiles. Talyn loves the unloved more than any other person I’ve ever met. Her life on this earth is important, and we do not believe her purpose has yet been fulfilled.

Not that there is any good timing for a cancer diagnosis, but the timing couldn’t have been worse. Talyn is to begin a new job the very day she meets with the surgeon, so she will not qualify for any FMLA or short-term disability. She will also likely be unable to work for unknown periods of time. We know that without her income, the Heinen’s will be adding loads of financial stress on top of the unbearable reality of her cancer diagnosis and the battle in front of her—and that is without the medical bills that will soon begin to pile up. If there is anything you can spare, we would be forever grateful.
