My name is Talon Carmody, and at just 13 years old, I've already faced the fight of my life. On April 28, 2024, a dirt bike accident on my favorite track changed everything in an instant. I suffered a severe traumatic brain injury (TBI), along with fractures to my neck (C6), back (T6), skull, and clavicle, a lacerated liver, and bruised lungs. No one saw the crash, and by the time help arrived, I was unresponsive and not breathing. I was airlifted to Children's Hospital Los Angeles, where doctors placed me in an induced coma for months to give my body a chance to heal. Those early days were filled with uncertainty, monitors tracking my brain pressure, endless tests, and my family holding vigil by my side, praying for any sign of hope.

But here's where the miracle begins: against all odds, I've made incredible progress. Waking from that coma was like emerging from the darkest storm. At first, I couldn't walk, talk, or do anything on my own. The doctors were cautious with their expectations, but I've proven them wrong every step of the way. Through intensive therapy, sheer determination, and the unwavering support of my amazing family, my mom, grandma Tami, papa Todd, and everyone who's rallied around me, I've regained strength I never thought possible. Today, I can communicate, move with assistance, and even share laughs with the therapy dogs who visited me during those tough hospital days. My journey has inspired the creation of the TC2 Foundation, dedicated to helping others facing similar battles, and it's a testament to how far resilience and community can carry us.

Now, we're at a pivotal moment, the next crucial phase in my recovery. I've been incredibly fortunate to secure a spot in Dr. Mark Liker's specialized treatment program at BrainStim Centers in Valencia, right here in our Santa Clarita community. Dr. Liker, a world-renowned neurosurgeon and founder of California Neurosurgical Institute, is a pioneer in non-invasive brain stimulation therapies like Navigated Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS).
