Talley was born on August 5, 2024, (four and a half weeks before her due date) with a number of medical challenges, including a tracheoesophageal fistula. Chris and Kai have been living in Salt Lake City since late July while Talley is in the Primary Children's Hospital NICU, currently recovering from surgery and the partial paralysis of her vocal chord nerves. Update! As of October 3, the Girards are home! Talley is doing well! The damage to her vocal chord nerves has improved to the point that she is able to begin bottle feeding. Long term, the doctors expect her to make a full recovery. So after 59 days in the NICU in Salt Lake City, they are excited to continue their recovery from home.
