Talithia Tobias is a 2 1/2-year-old that should be playing with her older brothers and her mom and dad. Except that Talithia has become very sick with an unknown brain condition/disease. What started as ear infections has turned into swelling of her brain, and she has become very lethargic. She was admitted to the hospital a week ago. Doctors were concerned that she would stop breathing, so they medically induced a coma to control her breathing.

An MRI showed abnormality consistent with encephalopathy. She has been receiving plasmapheresis treatments, but there is no clear answer to what her brain condition is.

Esteban is the single income provider for his family. He will be taking FMLA time off to be with his wife and daughter while she is in the hospital.
