Hi, my name is Tatyana. I’m using this campaign to fundraise for my girlfriend Talisa — one of the most kind-hearted and tough women I’ve ever known. Last week, she received the kind of diagnosis no one ever expects to hear, especially at 25: Stage 2 Invasive Carcinoma, an aggressive form of breast cancer.

In just two weeks, Talisa will begin her first round of an 6 months chemotherapy treatment plan. Because the cancer is so aggressive, her treatment has to be equally intense. This journey will be physically and emotionally exhausting, and unfortunately, it also means Talisa won’t be able to work which they are quoting her time off to be around 10 months to a year with surgery scheduled for after the chemo.

Everyone knows that life doesn't stop just because it feels like it has. As if facing cancer wasn’t hard enough, the financial strain that comes with it is devastating. No one should have to fight for their life while also worrying about how to keep the lights on. But life doesn’t pause — not for treatment, not for rest. Rent is still due. The car still needs to be insured. The vet still needs to be paid. Unsurprisingly, the medical bills are already mounting and only projected to grow.

Talisa is a fiercely hardworking woman and the proud fur mama of two handsome young cats and a beautiful german shepherd. Anyone lucky enough to know her knows she’s a light in this world — generous to a fault, the kind of person who would give you a mile if you asked for an inch.

Now it's our turn to show up for her.
