Support Talia in Fighting Cancer

Donation protected
Hello,
My name is Hannah, and I'm reaching out on behalf of my dear friend Talia Chia (neé Berson). At just 30 years old, Talia was recently diagnosed with stage 4b oral squamous cell carcinoma. Obviously, this news has turned Talia and her family’s world upside down as they navigate the challenges and uncertainties that come with this cancer diagnosis.

Talia is a lover of the outdoors and could always be found conquering a hiking trail in her hometown of Mill Valley. She recently earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology, and was getting ready to start a fellowship back in the Bay Area, when she received her diagnosis. As you can see, Talia takes her challenges head-on and now she is facing her greatest one yet: her battle with cancer. Talia has already gone through a grueling and hours-long surgery as the first step of her recovery, and will be starting radiation and chemotherapy just days after her 31st birthday. Although she lost a large portion of her tongue during surgery, Talia is back to talking and eating solid foods just weeks later (this will likely end once radiation begins). She is remarkably strong and determined to fight this disease with her outstanding courage and brilliant sense of humor.

The road ahead for Talia will be tough and the last thing we want her to worry about is finances. Your generous contributions will help alleviate the financial burden for Talia and her loved ones, allowing them to focus solely on Talia’s recovery and well-being.
Your support will go towards helping Talia and her family cover expenses like hospital parking and daily tolls (San Francisco is not cheap), medical supplies and out of pocket medical fees, weekly therapy, special food during radiation (Talia’s cancer is oral), and living expenses since Talia is out of work during her treatment. If there is anything remaining from your generous donations, Talia and her husband, Lin Khern, will use the funds for a vacation somewhere tropical to celebrate Talia beating cancer (a “Cancermoon”!).

Thank you for considering supporting Talia during this challenging time. Your kindness will truly make a difference in her fight against cancer.
